Winter smells cozy.
It smells burning woods in the chimney,
melting snow on the coat,
spruce needles and tangerine peels.
Winter is soft,
crisp and shiny.
Winter is long...
It gives time.
To contemplate,
to observe,
to feel.
It comes unwanted...for the most.
Though bringing presents for all.
Even for those running away.
It gives them purpose.
Winter is ancient
it doesn't keep track of time.
It's always sudden.
When least expected it comes.
When accepted it flees.
Winter guides us
to patience, acceptance,appreciation of warmth.
It opens our minds
for the beauty of life.
